Hey! I just had the absolute pleasure of photographing Becky & Mathew's wedding at The Story in Durham, and I have to say, I’m still blown away! If you’re thinking about a smaller, more intimate wedding, this place is a total gem. The light streaming through the windows is just magical, making every moment feel even more special, and let me tell you, it makes for some stunning photos! It’s honestly hard to believe this is a registry office. The space is elegant, full of character, and has such a warm, welcoming feel. It’s got that perfect mix of charm and style that really sets the tone for a beautiful celebration. Huge congrats again to Becky & Mathew for such a gorgeous day! If you're looking for a venue that feels a little extra special, The Story might just be the one for you. 💛

Wonderful visit to The Story on one of the DLI Friends drop in days. I had gone to further research of my great-grandfather & was met by enthusiasm, knowledge and the friendliest helpers. Have to mention the lovely Paddy & Vicky who have helped me on my path - visiting again soon to view more material

Beautiful building with small but interesting display about our history and heritage. The cafe is bright, lovely and relaxing, facing out onto the scenery through large windows. The coffee was great and the staff were most excellent. The parking and entry is free. Great place to spend an hour or so.

Joined the free tour of the building and exhibition spaces. Mick our guide and the volunteers were very knowledgeable about the building and the collections and records. Thank you for an informative and enjoyable few hours.

A small museum with lovely staff. Interactive displays are great and the few exhibits on show are interesting. Kids loved it. You can't make a day of it at this museum but perfect for an hour or so. The small cafe is bright and the young ladies serving were efficient and very friendly. It was very busy when we visited so the waiting time for food was understandably a bit longer but the soup and scone and sandwich we had was lovely. Drinks were nice and hot too. Only suggestion would be to put some Christmas decorations around to make it more welcoming in the festive period.
