Our collection was established in 1778 to support Gunner training, with the museum opening to the public in 1820 at the Rotunda in Woolwich. The collection has been awarded Designated status for its national significance and encompasses the full story of artillery from bronze cannon to self-propelled guns, guided missiles and UAVs, along with three centuries of Gunner stories.
Following the closure of the Woolwich museum, we are operating from interim premises in Wiltshire, while we develop plans for a new museum close to the Regiment’s home at Larkhill. Access is available for pre-booked groups, and on a series of open days held throughout the year; check our website and social media pages for details.

5 months agoGreat hidden artillery museum. Phone before you plan to visit as they do not take casual visitors. The hangers played an important role in British military flying history. We had a great guided tour. The display of historic artillery guns is fascinating
