Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire York Army Museum

York Army Museum, 3 Tower St, York YO1 9SB

Our collection tells the stories of British Army soldiers from 1685 to the present day. It covers the history of three famous Yorkshire regiments: The East Yorkshire Regiment, the West Yorkshire Regiment and The Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire. Archival material and objects are displayed and held at York Army Museum. The collection is incredibly varied and includes 5 Victoria Crosses, upwards of 3500 other medals, firearms, swords, uniforms and personal items of our soldiers. All of this allows us to share the incredible stories of hardship, humanity and comradery that define the history of the Yorkshire soldier.
