Based in our Robertson House office, our team currently comprises the Business Manager, Museums and Heritage Adviser and Governance and Communications Officer. Working closely with the Trustees, they carry out the work of AMOT, whether that’s giving network updates, museum support and, of course, creating and running the AMOT Annual Conference.
Clarinda Snowball has joined AMOT after a career of project management in industry and public events, working in school administration and the charity sector.
With an eye and ear on family military matters both in England and Scotland, she has found it a smooth transition and very proud making to now be working in the heart of it.
After living 35 years in Scotland, Clarinda is now settled in West Sussex and continues to cheer loudly for Scotland in the rugby!
I am a Heritage and Museums Adviser with over 17 years’ experience working within a national significant heritage site and museum/gallery environments. My work focuses on audience development, interpretation, and programme design, with a particular passion for creating inclusive experiences that help people connect meaningfully with heritage spaces.
I am especially interested in engaging multi-generational families and supporting organisations to tell their stories in ways that feel accessible, relevant, and welcoming. I enjoy translating collections, research, and historic environments into engaging interpretation and programmes that encourage repeat visits and foster a lasting sense of connection with place.
Before moving into an advisory role, I held a property leadership position with the National Trust, as Head of Visitor Experience at Mottisfont, one of the Trust’s flagship properties. In this role, I led large multidisciplinary teams and volunteer groups across exhibitions, events, learning, and interpretation, embedding audience-led planning, service excellence, and inclusive practice within a complex historic environment.
I am a strong advocate for partnership working and community engagement, and I value collaborative approaches that strengthen local relevance and broaden participation. Originally from the North East, I have a longstanding interest in local history, British folklore and ecclesiastical history which continues to shape my professional perspective.
I am motivated by work that helps people, particularly multi-generational families, feel a sense of belonging in heritage spaces and supports organisations to create experiences that are sustainable, engaging, and memorable.
With a degree in History & International Relations and a genuine passion for connecting with people, Ruairi brings a warm, people-first approach to the AMOT team.
Ruairi’s background in history makes him a proud and passionate supporter of AMOT’s mission. His commitment to the legacy of the British Armed Forces goes beyond historical conservation, recognising how this shared history can bring people together and bolster communities.
Ruairi joins us with a strong background in communications and administration, having honed his skills across customer-facing roles, management positions, and volunteer work. He has created digital content for university societies and local Scouting groups, managed teams in fast-paced environments, and handled everything from scheduling and inventory to data analysis.
Outside of work, Ruairi keeps busy organising boardgame clubs, working with his local scouting community, and finding new ways to bring people together.
