About This Museum
The Collections of the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment and the Lincolnshire Yeomanry, now owned by the Lincolnshire County Council, are housed in the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. This is located in a listed barracks which was built in 1857 for the Royal Lincoln Militia. The displays of uniforms, weapons, badges, medals and regimental memorabilia cover the history of the County infantry regiment from 1685 onwards. Exhibits illustrate the Regiment’s service in the American War of Independence, the Sudan campaign, Boer War and both World Wars. A separate display is devoted to uniforms, medals and photographs of the Lincolnshire Yeomanry.
