Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment Museum

Old Bedford Rd, Luton LU2 7HA

The Gallery display covers the history of the 16th Foot (later Bedfordshire Regiment, 1881-1919, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment, 1919-1958) from its formation in 1688 until its amalgamation with the Essex Regiment to form the 3rd East Anglian (later 3rd Royal Anglian Regiment) in 1958. Most of the items on display are post-1870
The display is staffed by volunteers from 10am to 12 noon on Wednesdays only, who will be glad to offer advice on research enquiries. Most of the regimental archives and photographs are held by Bedfordshire Record Office, based at Bedford, and there is little at Wardown Park
