The Royal Norfolk Regiment collection is varied, ranging from medals and uniforms, weapons and equipment to items collected by soldiers from around the world. There is a display about Edith Cavell, who was a local girl, famous for her nursing in the First World War, but executed by German firing squad. While much of the Regiment collection is too fragile to have on open display there are some larger exhibits that are free standing, including a ‘Please touch’ display, a drum to bang, a periscope to spy with and a modern day soldier’s pack to try on.
There is a fine photographic collection and an archive which can be seen by appointment.
