Sometimes you wonder where the money goes when places reopen after a long closure and millions spent, really loved the Fort as it was, decent cafe, great views and the home front always a favourite. Most areas have seen significant updates and interactive displays, including the home front, although the sound needs to be increased on some of these especially the train carriage, and the air raid shelter seemed toned down, but the Operation Overlord/D day experience was without doubt the best war museum experience I have done, really clever tech. Was worried also that health and safety may have restricted access to some of the tunnels but plenty of places to explore, whilst we visited without children the absolute star of the show was the new playground, and can't wait to be a well behaved adult to accompany a niece/nephew to be allowed to explore with them. Lovely workers too, and the cafe was popular and quality drinks. An absolute steal at £12.95 for a YEAR..... do book, on this Sunny Sunday walk ins were turned away pretty early and enjoy the best views from the clifftop path, also must mention the shop with plenty of IWM merchandise gifts for all pocket sizes available
Absolutely fantastic! Well worth a visit! Kids (4, 5 and 11) loved it, lots to see and do. As for the play park, just wow! Really friendly welcoming lady where you pay to go in, couldn't have been nicer. Lovely cafe with friendly staff. Brilliant 👌
Newhaven Fort is a fascinating place to explore, whether you’re a history enthusiast or a family looking for a fun and educational day out. The exhibitions are well presented, and there’s plenty to keep children entertained too. One of the highlights is the stunning panoramic view from the top – absolutely worth the climb! You can easily spend a couple of hours here, and the best part is that your ticket is valid for unlimited visits for a whole year, so you can return for the many events held throughout the season
Great day out, I grew up coming here and have many happy memories and have looked forward to bringing my own family here, all the staff are brilliant and have a very clear passion for the fort and go out of their way to help, the new playground is excellent and my son didn't want to leave!
Really enjoyed the visit. Kids 3 & 5 loved it. Playground is great. I have two criticisms - car park is teeny and always full. The cafe doesn’t sell ice creams until the summer despite having an empty freezer ready to do so.
