The home of the world-famous Chelsea Pensioner since 1692, the Royal Hospital Chelsea itself is in many ways a living museum, but we also have a dedicated museum with some of our more unusual items on display.

The Museum details the history and life of the Royal Hospital and its In-Pensioners together with displays of artefacts, documents, medals, cap badges and uniforms. Recent additions include the Sovereign’s Mace and Parade Chair. The entrance hall is dedicated to the Duke of Wellington and features items such as George Jones’ panorama of the Battle of Waterloo (1820) and a large Diorama depicts the Royal Hospital and Ranelagh Pleasure gardens as they appeared in 1742.
