How glorious is the sapper, in all his vocation. Lifting , carrying, digging all back breaking work. Up to his eyes in oil , muck and earth, how everyone envies his assignments! Making, creating a way what is his worth ? Now waiting for his comrades to pass , Before blowing the bridge. Or crawling in the cold dewy grass to make a pass. So the bold cavalry can rush on past. And ferrying you a cross the mighty flood. Making the bridge over the ravine, while the artillery rains. Helping you cross on his blood. Making water clean to drink and cook, Engineers, the best in anyone's books.
