The Essex Regiment museum section in Chelmsford museum closed in January 2026 with the majority of the collection moving to the Royal Anglian Museum at Duxford where it is being catalogued. The Essex Yeomanry section remains open at Chelmsford museum.
The regiment collection traces the history of the Regiment from 1741 to the present day. Uniforms, trophies – includes the Salamanca Eagle captured from the French 62nd Regiment – badges, insignia, weapons and regimental memorabilia reflect the worldwide service of the Essex Regiment in the service of the Crown.
