It includes uniforms, equipment, medals (8 of the Regiment’s 13 VCs are on display), badges and regimental memorabilia. There are special sections covering Militia & Volunteers, the Zulu War, both World Wars and the Gulf War. There is a children’s hands-on area and outside there are armoured vehicles, two Anderson Shelters and a long section of WW1 trench. The Regimental archive and library are on-site and may be viewed by appointment. The Museum runs excellent school visits which are linked to the National Curriculum, runs several imaginative military re-enactor events at weekends throughout the year – including Redcoats, WW1, WW2, even Carols in the Trenches.
