How to get there:
The Redoubt is ½ a mile east of Eastbourne Pier and 1 mile from Eastbourne Bus Station. Buses 1, 2, 5, 10 and 11 stop nearby on Seaside and Bus 99 stops on Royal Parade.

the Gulf War. Displays include items from the Charge of the Light Brigade and a fine collection of medals. The collection is displayed within the Redoubt Fortress. This circular Napoleonic fort is one of the best preserved in the country. Built between 1804 - 1810 at a time when Napoleon was threatening to invade England it forms, along with 74 Martello towers, a string of coastal defences stretching from Folkestone to Seaford. Originally housing anything up to 250 soldiers the Redoubt provides the perfect setting for this regimental collection. Alongside the collections of the Royal Sussex Regimentand the Sussex Combined Services it forms the largest military museum in the south.
