How to get there: The Museum of Lancashire contains displays relating to several of the County’s historic regiments. The gallery of the 14th/20th King’s Hussars traces the history of the regiment from 1715 and includes 2 Victoria Crosses, a display of guidons and artefacts from the Napoleonic era, India and South Africa. The Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry’s 200 year association with Lancashire is portrayed with exhibits from Peterloo, South Africa and WW1. There is also a gallery of Queen’s Lancashire Regiment material, a Lancashire Home Front display, Far East prisoner-of-war art and a trench scene.
