Over 140 Military Museums in the UK

Grants of up to £2,600 are available for AMOT network members only, and bids should be submitted in accordance with the following timetable (note, outside of committee bids will not be considered):

  • Bids to Director AMOT:                                               January
  • Consideration of bids by AMOT Trustees:            February
  • Trustees’ decisions promulgated:                           March
  • Provision of funds:                                                       April

And should contain the following detail:

  • Description of the project;
  • Total costs;
  • Other contributions towards the cost, including those from the bidding museum’s own resources;
  • Summary of the museum’s financial position; and,
  • Time by which funds are required.
Criteria
  • Only for AMOT network museums and collections;
  • Only one bid may be submitted / funded per grants round per museum or collection;
  • Bids will only be considered during the stipulated committee round;
  • Museums or collections may submit bids every year if they wish, and will not be discriminated against for having applied for or been awarded a grant in previous years; and,
  • Bids will not be considered for purchase of collection items or property.

It is intended that the rules governing the provision of grants should not be prescriptive and Trustees are keen to encourage applications for a wide range of projects.  Informal advice on eligibility may be sought from the Director AMOT at any time.

  • Royal Anglian : Laptop to consolidate records of artefacts & archives
  • Royal Green Jackets : VDU / Waterloo database
  • Royal Highland Fusiliers : Racking & storage
