The museum tells the story of the home of the British Army from 1854 to the present day, as well as the local history of Aldershot and Farnborough. From the Victorian Soldier to National Service, the museum uses photographs, models, displays and ‘hands on’ activities to give an insight into a soldier’s domestic and military life. The local history gallery also has a display dedicated to S F Cody, the first man to undertake a powered flight in Britain in 1908. Artillery guns and military vehicles are displayed in the grounds of the museum and the Montgomery Gallery. Recent addition to the museum is the Boyce Building which has a gallery telling the history of Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Church Crookham. The charges for school partises include facilitated sessions.
